Toys
Children's Services, Main Library has games, toys, and puzzles available for checkout just like books!
Our collection features items that are educational and diverse--old favorites and new innovations. We've got something appropriate for children as young as 6 months old --try Perpeto or Tangiball. For that 96-year-old who still feels like a kid, check out Set or another great game in our collection.
We add to our collection regularly from such sources as Discovery Toys, Habba, Constructive Playthings and others. You can sample the best without buyer's remorse --especially if you have a child who may only love something for a week or two.

Mock Newbery Club
Join us for SJCPL's Mock Newbery Club. For readers ages 9-14. We'll be reading a variety of books eligible to win the 2012 Newbery Medal. Be ready to read a lot and talk about what makes the writing good--or not. Registration required.

- You can hear a story over the phone 24 hours a day at 282-4660, brought to you by the Children’s Services Department. Picture books, folk tales or poems several minutes long are read by library staff persons or volunteers. The selection changes once a week. For information about the selections, you can contact the Main Children’s Room, 282-4607 during open hours.
