MTV Movie Awards Surprise None, Excite Many

Last night the MTV Movie Awards were aired on MTV. While none of the winners came exactly unexpected. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won pretty much everything it was up for. With the only award it didn’t win [and this doesn't include beating itself in the same category, which it did twice] being Best Breakout Star. there was still room for an old timey Reese Witherspoon to show up and drop some science on the crowd in the form of her lifetime achievement award acceptance speech.

The real excitement came when a trailer for next year’s multiple award winner The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn were shown. All I know is this is a Twilight Saga movie, and it will surely be popular.

Here’s the full list of winners too:
Best Movie: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best Comedic Performance: Emma Stone: Easy A
Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best Scared as —- Performance: Ellen Page: Inception
Best Line from a Movie: “I want to get chocolate wasted”: Grown Ups
MTV Generation Award: Reese Witherspoon
Best Kiss: Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson/Bryce Dallas Howard/Xavier Samuel: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Breakout Star: Chloe Grace Moretz: Kick-Ass
Biggest Bad— Star: Chloe Grace Moretz: Kick-Ass
Best Jaw Dropping Moment: Justin Bieber: Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Best Villian: Tom Felton: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Best Male Performance: Robert Pattinson: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

For those keeping track at home, that’s:
Twilight: 5
Every other movie to come out in the last year: 8.

You may argue “But Jake, it would appear that Twilight still lost in terms of raw numbers”. To which I say: “Did it really?” I’ll repeat, the only award they lost (other than to themselves) was Breakout Star, and they lost that to a crime fighting 12 year old. I can’t think of any way you could call that losing.
