This year, a game took Save•Point by storm. With the exception of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Halo 3, no tournament saw the attendance, the hype, and the excitement that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 brought to the scene.
Sadly, that time has passed. Last month we retired MvC 3. The tournament ended with arguably THE best match we’ve seen in Save•Point history, which can be seen here. The set ends with veteran Mr. Moo winning the Grand Championship for the first time ever. As they say, however, all good things come to an end. And while we’re saying goodbye to MvC 3, it’s only so that we can welcome the new edition, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 into the fold.
So, what does that mean?
It means that this Saturday will be a whole new scene. New moves, new characters, and a fresh start for everyone. There is no telling who will come out on top this time around. The field is wide open and the anticipation is already building. Will we see new teams form, or will old favorites return? Will veterans like Mr. Moo, Nova, and Shinku hold their top spots, or is the path laid bare for new talent to come forward and dethrone the kings.
Where will YOU fall in all of this? There’s never been a better time to step up and play in the area’s BEST tournament scene. Don’t play Marvel vs. Capcom? We’ve got you covered. Street Fighter IV AE is our other fighter, and there’s no place in Michiana that has better talent then the World Warriors of Save•Point.
Sure, you don’t play fighters. I thought you’d say that. That’s why we’re also running Pokemon Battles, the ongoing series of Pokemon Black/White tournaments that are doubling in attendance every time.
Besides all the above, this is also the last Qualifier event for this season. The Top Four of each game will move on to our Grand Finals next month, where the title of Grand Champion is bestowed upon the top player of each game, along with the prizes we give out at the end of each season.
